This entails an arrangement wherein two or more companies work together to share investment, benefits and losses.

The company designated as operator undertakes all activities on the field, including geological and seismic studies and surveys, drilling, installation, processing, infrastructural development and social welfare while other partners share financial responsibility, provide technical input and monitor output and other development initiatives.
