Ghauri Block

Ghauri Block

Ghauri Block straddles Rawalpindi and Jehlum districts in the Punjab. The block's exploration license was formally awarded to MPCL in February 2010. So far, two discoveries Ghuari & Dharian have been made in June 2014 & April 2019, respectively.

Ghauri D&PL was granted in January 2016. A third well, Miraj X-1, was drilled but was unsuccessful.

Dharian X-1 is currently producing under Early Well Testing phase while Ghauri X-1 is shut-in due to jet pump cavitation issues. Evaluation is under progress to revive production from Ghauri X-1.
