Makori Field

Makori Field

Makori Field was discovered in 2005 after drilling of an exploratory well on the Makori structure. Early production commenced from the field in May 2006.

Two more wells, Makori-2 and 3, were drilled. Makori-2 was dry while Makori-3 was put on production in June 2010 through the Makori Early Production Facility. Later, a 150 MMscfd Makori Gas Processing Facility (MGPF) was developed and the first sales gas from the facility was achieved on February 18, 2014.

Field development plan for Makori was approved by the Government of Pakistan in April 2012, leading to declaring its status as Development and Production Lease.

The field is currently shut-in due to high water production and limited future hydrocarbon potential. Consequently, one of the wells is being converted for Tal Block produced water disposal. Regulatory approvals have been received and water disposal well was commissioned in May 2021.
