Gambat South Block

Gambat South is located in District Sanghar, Sindh. The block was granted to PPL in December 2009.
Later, the company farmed-out 10 percent of its working interest in Gambat South to Asia Resources Oil Limited and 25 percent to Government Holdings (Private) Limited in June and July 2010, respectively.
So far, 11 discoveries, Wafiq, Shahdad, Kinza, Faiz (two formations), Hadi, Kabir, Hatim, Zafir, Hadaf and Badeel have been made in the block with the latest in December 2018.
Plans are underway to tap optimum potential of the block. To this end, three gas processing facilities have been placed. Gas Processing Facility I is processing 10 MMscfd gas while Gas Processing Facility II with a capacity of 50MMscfd commenced production on August 9, 2016. Later, production also started from Gas Processing Facility IV (GPF-IV) under its first phase from October 7, 2018 at 36 MMscfd which has been further enhanced to 70MMscfd after tie-in of GPF-IV Phase-II equipment in January, 2021.
Additionally, 60-MMscfd Zafir Gas Processing Facility is also being installed to obtain production from other discoveries of the block.
