Syed Mahmood ul Hassan

Brigadier Syed Mahmood ul Hassan (Retired), joined Pakistan Petroleum Limited in November 2016 as Senior Manager Security and Lands (SMS&L), bringing in diversified experience of 32 years in the forces. He has been awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military) by the President of Pakistan in 2016 in recognition of his outstanding strategic and operational achievements.  

Prior to joining PPL, Mr. Hassan has served in President’s Secretariat, United Nation Mission and was on the faculty of National Defence University, Islamabad (NDU) besides working as Regional Director, Anti-narcotics Force, Punjab. In his tenure as Principal Staff Officer of the President of Pakistan, he successfully managed administration, security, protocol, human resources, budgetary and government affairs. 

Mr. Hassan holds a master’s degree in Strategic and Defence Studies from NDU as well as a Master of Science in Project Management from COMSATS University, Islamabad. He has also attended various professional training programmes at home and abroad. 

He was promoted as General Manager Corporate Services on April 27, 2022 to oversee Administration, Corporate Communications, Community Development, Security and Lands and Licences departments as well as Corporate Services in Islamabad Office. Recently, he has been redesignated as General Manager Shared Services on November 28, 2022, enhancing the ambit of his responsibilities to Procurement and Information Technology departments.  

Mr. Hassan has demonstrated the ability to work collaboratively with commitment to achieve corporate goals and effectively managed company’s affairs in his various roles. In October 2021, he was transferred to Corporate Services in Islamabad to pursue company’s matters and carry out effective liaison with Ministry of Energy and other government offices, whereby he was able to successfully pursue PPL’s short-to-long term business interests.
