Shanza Baig

Shanza Baig joined Pakistan Petroleum Limited as Head of Legal and Commercial on July 17, 2023. 

Ms. Baig is a legal and advisory specialist with nearly two decades of leadership experience in energy and corporate sectors working in multinational environment and for large organizations. With her strong educational and professional background, she holds a proven track record of rendering services as in-house counsel and enabler for the organization’s strategic objectives, including transactional and corporate matters for large infrastructure projects and operations.

She has routinely advised on matters ranging from joint ventures, shareholder issues, project finance, infrastructure and construction, procurement, taxation, labour and employment, competition law, dispute resolution and other corporate and commercial issues. She has previously held various management positions both in Pakistan and United Arab Emirates. 

Ms. Baig has a keen interest in the everchanging global energy market and its various commodities. She understands the local and global energy market environment and the skills required for policy and decision making.
 
She holds a Bachelor of Law from Pakistan and a master’s degree from Ruhr University Germany as Erasmus Mundus Scholar. She also holds a master’s degree in political science from University of the Punjab with distinction. 

Ms. Baig is a member of the Lahore High Court Bar Association, Punjab Bar Council and District Bar Association; Association of International Petroleum Negotiators and is a certified director of Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance. She is also a published author in international oil and gas journals.
