Asset Operations

The Assets Operations Directorate is responsible for managing Pakistan Petroleum Limited’s producing and partner operated assets to optimize production from both its mature and new fields through maximizing production and operations efficiencies in line with the corporate strategies.

Currently, the directorate manages five assets, Sui, Kandhkot, Adhi, Hala/ Mazarani/ Gambat South and Partner-operated, with altogether 27 fields ─ 10 PPL-operated and 17 partner-operated - with a total production of over 1 Bcfepd, besides overseeing operations of Bolan Mining Enterprise (BME), a joint venture between Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) and Government of Balochistan.

Assets Operations works in collaboration with Technical Services directorate to enhance reserve recovery and production as well as arrest decline in production from its mature assets through development drilling, work overs and other well-based interventions, including hydraulic fracturing. Similarly, for new fields & production facilities, modification and upgrades Asset Operations is providing full support to Technical Services.

Asset Operations is also focusing on operating and capital cost optimization to improve economical life of mature and marginal fields.   As a result, PPL was able to restrict natural decline in production of 6-7 percent and enhance overall production by 8 percent during 2016-2017 to meet the supply demand gap in the country.
