Sultan Maqsood

General Manager Corporate Services

A veteran professional with over 35 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Sultan Maqsood joined Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) in 1978. Since then Maqsood has held various key positions in the management and administration sections at various company locations, including Sui, Adhi and Kandhkot fields and PPL’s regional office in Islamabad.

Prior to assuming charge as General Manager Corporate Services in January 2012, Maqsood was Senior Manager Corporate Services and Resident Manager, Islamabad (RMI). As RMI, Maqsood maintained close liaison with government and other business partners as part of the company’s efforts to build strong, meaningful linkages with stakeholders.

In his current role, Maqsood is a member of PPL's Executive Committee and also oversees a diverse mix of departments, including Administration, Security, Corporate Communications, Government Relations, Lands and Community Development. He is also chairman of PPL Welfare Trust and a member of Petroleum Institute of Pakistan and Pakistan Association of Petroleum Geoscientists.

He has received specialized management training from both local and international institutions, including Pace University, New York, USA and Cranfield University, UK.

Maqsood is a keen sportsman and has led the company’s tennis and cricket teams in several successful events. He is also a former Senior Vice President of Pakistan Tennis Federation and a trustee of Pakistan Tennis Welfare Trust.
