Shahbaz Khan

General Manager Projects 

Shahbaz Khan joined Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) as General Manager Assets Operations on May 16, 2016. Later, he was redesginated as General Manager Sui Asset on October 13, 2016. He also managed additional responsiblity of Projects between November 24 and December 15, 2017 until assuming the charge as General Manager Projects. 

A seasoned professional, Khan has over 29 years of versatile experience in development and production of hydrocarbons mainly with PPL, MOL Pakistan Oil and Gas Company B.V. (MOL) and Tullow Oil (Tullow). Before joining PPL, his last assignment was with Polish Oil and Gas Company (POGC) as Senior General Manager (Development & Production).

His association with PPL dates back to 1987, when he was selected for PPL’s on-job training programme as a trainee engineer and served the company for about 12 years in various capacities at Sui and Kandhkot gas fields before moving on to join OMV, which he served for a short period of around 8 months before joining Tullow.

During his tenures in Tullow, MOL and POGC, Khan played a leading role in helping these companies in setting up operations in Pakistan, including building up teams, involving development of young professionals, engagement with local communities and ensuring availability of required infrastructure for safe and effective operations, in addition to his core responsibilities.

Khan holds a bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore and has attended several technical and management training programmes.
