Security is one of the fundamental requirements of a large oil and gas Exploration and Production Company such as Pakistan Petroleum Limited with a huge portfolio, spread across the country, mainly in remote, challenging areas. Security is also one of the main parts of Corporate Services.
PPL is operating in all four provinces of Pakistan and abroad in Iraq. The type and quantum of security risks in each province and Iraq varies according to the security environment. To cater to these varied security needs, the department has implemented ‘Hybrid Security Surveillance and Monitoring System’ enabling it to b organized to provide round the clock security support to all kinds of company operations.
The department has hard corps devoted security professionals who have diverse, vast experience. The staff maintain close coordination with the LEAs and Civil administration. Provision of security guard services to Assets and Exploration, arranging security of expatriates, security clearance, seeking NOCs from concerned agencies are a few important functions that the department is performing in support of attaining the company’s objectives.
Lands and Licences Department
Lands and Licences Department comprises essential experienced staff and is a significant part of security services. It is mandated to acquire land both for temporary and permanent basis for exploratory wells and permanent structure. In addition, the department also processes and acquires various licenses for the company from government agencies as required.
The process of land acquisition is highly tedious and challenging as it involves dealing with landowners and considerable movement and travelling. The land department has always managed both functions efficiently, seeking maximum economy and offering fair compensation to landowners.
The company due to the effective land acquisition has always been able to complete its exploration and production objectives. Lands and Licences also maintains the record of all land permanently acquired by PPL for plants, wells and production facilities.
