PPL Empowers Underprivileged Youth with Digital Skills and Global Employment

DGF and X Loops

Karachi, February 28, 2025 – Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) has taken a groundbreaking step in youth empowerment by launching its first Employment-Based Digital Literacy Programme. In collaboration with Dawood Global Foundation (DGF) and X-Loop Digital, the initiative provides underprivileged youth with cutting-edge digital skills and direct access to international employment opportunities.

Over 16 weeks, 15 students from Sui, Dera Bugti, Matiari, Kashmore, Kandhkot, and Daultala received hands-on training in Full Stack Engineering and Data Sciences at the X-Loop Training Centre in Karachi. A key highlight of the programme is its direct employment linkage, ensuring graduates secure online jobs with global organizations upon completion.

Fully funded by PPL at PKR 12 million, the programme covered training, travel, and four months of boarding and lodging, making it accessible to students from remote areas.

At the Certificate Distribution Ceremony, PPL MD & CEO Mr. Imran Abbasy awarded certificates to graduates, joined by PPL GM Shared Services Syed Mahmood ul Hasan, DGF CEO Tara Uzra Dawood, and X-Loop CEO Meer Ali, who commended PPL for spearheading this transformative initiative.

“This programme exemplifies our commitment to bridging the digital divide and creating sustainable economic opportunities for youth in underserved areas,” said Mr. Abbasy. “By equipping students with globally relevant skills and securing employment, we are driving meaningful change in their lives and communities.”

A notable success story from the programme is a female graduate from Daultala, near Adhi Field, who secured first position and transitioned from a remote area to global employment, symbolizing the initiative’s life-changing impact.

PPL remains steadfast in its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment, paving the way for a digitally skilled and economically empowered Pakistan.
