PPL discovers hydrocarbons in District Sanghar, Sindh
Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) recently made a gas and condensate discovery from its operated exploratory well Shahpur Chakar North X-1 in Gambat South Block District Sanghar, Sindh.
Shahpur Chakar North X-1 was drilled to 3,560 meters to test the hydrocarbon potential of Massive Sand of Lower Goru Formation. Initial testing flowed 15.2 MMscfd gas along with 321 bbl/d condensate at a flowing wellhead pressure of 3,061 psig on 32/64 inches choke.
Gambat South is a joint venture between PPL as operator with 65% working interest (WI) along with Government Holdings (Private) Limited and Asia Resources Oil Limited with 25% and 10% WI, respectively.
