PPL Blind Cricket Championship 2017 inaugurated

Islamabad, October 30, 2017: The 1st Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) Blind Cricket Championship 2017 organized by Islamabad Cricket Club of the Blind (ICCB) was inaugurated at Bhutto Cricket Ground, Islamabad.

Deputy Managing Director PPL Moin Raza Khan, as chief guest, officially opened the tournament by hitting a ball in the presence of officials from both PPL and ICCB as well as spectators at the stadium. The trophy was also unveiled on the occasion.

Khan reiterated PPL’s commitment to the underserved through its multidimensional Corporate Social Responsibility Programme with a special focus on nurturing differently abled individuals through projects in education, healthcare, livelihoods generation and sports.

General Secretary ICCB, Bilal Satti appreciated PPL for sponsoring the five-day tournament, which will promote sportsmanship among differently abled cricketers in Pakistan. 

The tournament, being held between October 30 and November 3 in Islamabad, with the final scheduled on the last day, involves six teams from Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Bahawalpur, Kashmir and Islamabad.
