Directors and management at the Annual General Meeting 2014

Karachi, October 24, 2014: The 63rdAnnual General Meeting of Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) was held on October 24, 2014. Shareholders of the company approved financial statements together with the auditor’s report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2014 besides payment of final cash dividend of 75 percent on ordinary share capital. This is in addition to an interim cash dividend of 50 percent already paid to shareholders, bringing total distribution for the financial year 2013 – 2014 to 125 percent cash dividend.

PPL announces Scholarship Scheme 2014-2015 for students of Balochistan under a 4-year Study Plan from Grade  9th to 12th : In order to impart quality education to promising and underprivileged youth of BalochistanPPL Welfare Trust announces 30 scholarships for a 4-year educational programme for students of Dera Bugti and other districts in Balochistan who are presently enrolled in grade IX at any well-reputed English medium institutions across the country recognized by Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.

Gas flare at Kinza X-1 Gambat South Block operated by Pakistan Petroleum Limited

KARACHI, October 14, 2014: Pakistan Petroleum Limited, operator of Gambat South Block, with 65 percent working interest (WI) along with its joint venture partners Government Holdings (Private) Limited and Asia Resources Oil Limited with 25 percent and 10 percent WI, respectively, announced another gas-condensate discovery from exploratory well Kinza X-1 in District Sanghar, Sindh. This is the fourth discovery in the block after Wafiq, Shahdad and Sharf gas-condensate discoveries.

Environmental Impact Assessment of Exploratory and Drilling Activities at PPL's Hab Block, Balochistan: All stakeholders, interested/ affected and general public are notified that Balochistan EPA has admitted the application of PPL for consideration to grant NOC for exploration activities in Hab block, Balochistan against EIA study conducted for seismic & drilling activities in the block. A Public Hearing will be organized by Balochistan EPA at 11:00 a.m. on October 15, 2014 at Lasbela Industrial Estates Development Authority Hab, Balochistan.

PPL observed Independence Day on August 14 2014 at head office and all field locations. In view of the plight of Internally Displaced Persons the day was observed modestly with prayers for the country and company

Gas flare at Sharf X-1 Gambat South Block operated by Pakistan Petroleum Limited

KARACHI, August 5, 2014: Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) the operator of Gambat South Block (2568-18) with 65 percent working interest (WI) along with its joint venture partners Government Holdings Private Limited (GHPL) and Asia Resources Oil Limited (AROL) with 25 percent and 10 percent WI, respectively, has announced another gas and condensate discovery over its exploration well Sharf X-1 located in District Sanghar, Sindh.This is the third discovery in the block after gas and condensate discoveries from Wafiq X-1 and Shahdad X-1.

Islamabad, February 28, 2014: Concluding round of PCAs signed by PPL and OMV: Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) signed three Exploration Licenses (ELs) and Petroleum Concession Agreements (PCAs) with the Government of Pakistan in Islamabad on February 28 for Blocks 2569-5 (Khipro East), 2866-4 (Margand) and 2867-5 (Kuhan), the last two in joint venture with OMV (Pakistan) Exploration GmbH (OMV), an Austrian Exploration and Production (E&P) company. 

PPL the first company in Pakistan to use Microsoft Private Cloud facility: Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) achieved a milestone by becoming the first company, among both public and private sectors organizations, to deploy multi-site Microsoft private cloud in Pakistan for its primary and disaster recovery data centers. As part of its efforts to continuously improve services and ensure resilience of systems, the Information Technology (IT) Department at PPL has already entered into mature implementation of Microsoft System Centre 2012 and virtualization of Microsoft Windows Servers 2012 that enabled the company to adopt the private cloud technology offered by Microsoft.

ISLAMABAD January 16, 2014: Aligned with its efforts to develop technically qualified human resource and lead innovative initiatives in the Exploration and Production (E&P) sector, Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for industry-academia collaboration with NED University of Engineering and Technology (NED) and Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) on January 16, 2014 at Serena Hotel, Islamabad.
