Muhammad Afzal Siddiqi
A seasoned professional with around 28 years of experience, mainly in the oil and gas industry, Muhammad Afzal Siddiqi joined Pakistan Petroleum Limited in September 1994 as Junior Executive with Materials and Contracts (M&C) Department.
Siddiqi remained associated with the company’s M&C Department for nearly two decades during which he looked after different functions of procurement of material and services. He served at the company’s largest gas field at Sui for 7 years. He moved up the career ladder, holding the position of Manager Contracts and Logistics in 2009, before he was transferred to Human Resources in 2012 as Manager Recruitment and Staff Administration.
He was promoted to Senior Manager Human Resources in 2014 and later re-designated as Senior Manager Employee Relations in 2017 to look after the company’s Industrial Relations.
Siddiqi with diversified experience has developed practical understanding of the company’s business needs. He was promoted as General Manager Human Resources (GMHR) on July 15, 2019, following a brief stint as Acting GMHR, with an overall responsibility to oversee human resources, training and development, medical services as well as industrial relations departments.
He earned a master in Commerce from University of Karachi in 1989 and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Western International University, USA in 1994. He qualified CIPS graduate diploma in Purchasing and Supply in 2002 and obtained certification as Solution Consultant of mySAP Supply Chain Management – Procurement in 2004. He also secured a Master of Science in Procurement from University of Glamorgan, UK in 2008.
Siddiqi obtained an Advanced Certificate in Strategic HR Management and a certificate in High Performance Leadership from Cornell University, USA in 2012 and 2015, respectively, besides participating in several international and national professional training programmes. He is also an MBA Oil & Gas Management candidate at Robert Gordon University and expects to complete it soon.
