Kabir X-1 discovery was made in Basal Sand of Lower Goru formation at Gambat South Block in May 2015. During the initial testing, the well produced 2.0 MMscfd Gas with 250 bbl/d condensate at a Flowing Well Head Pressure (FWHP) of 2,100 psia. However, continuous decline in FWHP was observed during the testing, which indicates the tight reservoir characteristics, away from the wellbore. Quality of gas is good with Gross Heating Value (GHV) of 1063 Btu/scf and containing low Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and Nitrogen (N2) contents, unlike other Gambat South wells.
An Extended Well Test (EWT) was required to assess the long-term potential of Kabir X-1 discovery along with the connected volumes (Gas in Place) and associated reserves. Accordingly, EWT approval was granted by DGPC for gas sales through Virtual Pipeline arrangement and the agreement was signed with M/s E-Gas Pvt. Ltd. upto 1 MMscfd gas sales from Kabir X-1.
An EWT facility has been established at Kabir X-1, which commenced production on 27 October 2017. Sales gas is being delivered to the Third-Party Gas sales contractor at facility battery limit, and condensate is being dispatched after partial stabilization to an oil refinery through bowsers. Third party gas sales customer is further selling the gas to industrial customers and captive power plants through bowsers. Currently the facility is producing 0.5 MMscfd gas and ~40 BPD condensate.
