Hassan Nasir Jamy


Hassan Nasir Jamy was elected as a member of Pakistan Petroleum Limited’s Board on September 16, 2017. He is also  member of the Board Strategy, Finance and Audit Committees.

He did his Master of Business Administration from Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad in 1986 besides a Masters in Rural Development from University of Sussex, UK in 1996. He also attended Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow Programme in Public Policy at University of North Carolina, USA in 2004.

Jamy joined civil services in 1989 and has over 27 years of rich experience in public sector administration and project management in a variety of disciplines, including policy planning and implementation, local governance structures and reforms, service delivery mechanisms in social and energy sectors and establishment of performance evaluation systems.

Currently, he is working as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Energy, Petroleum Division whereby he is responsible for supervising regulatory and policy formulation functions under the Policy Wing, consisting five directorates of petroleum concessions, oil, gas, liquefied gases and special projects/ administration.

Prior to joining the Petroleum Division in August 2017, Jamy worked as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Water and Power (now Ministry of Energy, Power Division) for nearly three years, providing monitoring, coordination and policy support in development of mega projects such as Tarbela-IV and Diamer-Basha dams, Dasu and Neelum Jhelum Hydropower projects.

He also supervised administrative, financial and development assignments at Ministry of Water and Power, Indus River System Authority, Chief Engineering Adviser/ Chairman Federal Flood Commission’s office, Water Sector Capacity Building and Advisory Services Project, National Power Construction Corporation, National Engineering Services Pakistan and Pakistan Commission for Indus Water.

Jamy was also managing director of National Energy Conservation Centre during his association with Ministry of Water and Power.
