Chachar Gas Field
The Government of Pakistan assigned 75 percent working interest and operatorship of Chachar Gas Field (CGF) to Pakistan Petroleum Limited in early 2009, while Government Holdings (Private) Limited continued to hold the remaining 25 percent working interest.
Spanning over an area of approximately 34 square kilometers, Chachar is an extension of the north-eastern dome of Kandhkot Gas Field. To date, a total of four wells have been drilled at CGF, of which Chachar 1 and 2 are presently in production, while Chachar 3 and 4 are shut-in / abandoned due to water load-up.
The gas from CGF is recovered from Kandhkot Gas Field through Kandhkot-Chachar pipeline and sold as commingled gas to SNGPL.
