Arshad Hussain Palekar

A seasoned E&P professional with over 30 years of experience, Arshad Palekar joined Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) on November 16, 2016, as Senior Manager Exploration (SME)/ Specialist GeoServices at head office. He was redesignated as SME North in November 2019 to oversee company’s operated and partner-operated exploration licences in the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.  Later, he moved on to Overseas and Core Business Development Department at head office to develop and direct domestic and international exploration strategy and identify business opportunities before his promotion as General Manager Core and Business Development on March 24, 2023, to oversee the Exploration Directorate.

Prior to joining PPL, Palekar remained associated with leading E&P company as well as service provider for over 20 years to gain a well-rounded experience. He got insight of the complete cycle of Pakistan’s upstream exploration, development and production with LASMO Plc later Eni Pakistan Limited for 14 years between 1992 and 2007 in various positions. Later, he worked for globally renowned service provider Schlumberger for over 9 years between 2007 and 2016 in various management roles with a focus on providing solutions for client specific challenges, using an integrated approach.

Palekar did his bachelor’s as well as master’s in Petroleum Geology from University of Karachi in 1991 and 1992, respectively. Besides, he attended various national and international training courses. He has also authored and presented technical papers in various fora, including annual technical conferences.
