Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL)’s current exploration portfolio includes seven PPL-operated and 12 partner-operated onshore and three offshore blocks. Moreover, PPL also holds interest in an international block in Yemen and to participate in the second field development round in Iraq.

During 2009, PPL applied for bidding of eight exploration blocks, including Sirani, Sukhpur, Naushahro Firoz, Kharan, Kharan West, Kharan East, Palantak and Zhob blocks in the Lower Indus and Balochistan basins. Continuing its tradition of working with enterprising joint venture partners, PPL is seeking partnerships in these and other blocks offered in the current bid round as well as joint ventures in exploration and development prospects outside Pakistan. Besides, some working interest is also available in exploration blocks already granted to PPL.

To this end, an E&P Brochure has been developed to provide a quick reference to the exploration scenario in the country as well as to the opportunities that exist in E&P joint venturing with PPL within and outside Pakistan.
