Managers and department heads attend HSE workshop
Observing Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) rules is not premised solely on safeguarding company assets but also ensuring the well-being of employees and in turn their dependents. This was the primary learning from the intensive two-day HSE workshop for managers and departmental heads held at Pearl Continental Hotel, Karachi, on October 28 and 29.
The workshop was organised by Pakistan Petroleum Limited’s HSE and Training and Development (T&D) departments. Renowned HSE consultant Tahseen Hassan of Occupational Safety and Loss Prevention International conducted the training for some 23 employees from the head and regional office as well as Sui, Mazarani, Kandhkot and Adhi fields.
The agenda of the workshop was to enhance the exposure of participants to diverse HSE-related issues such as organization and responsibility, risk management, behaviour-based safety and emergency response. The sessions proved to be lively and interactive as participants were divided into independent groups for training modules, following which they were asked to present their views and conclusions.
