PPL Balochistan Football Cup 2017 trophy unveiled 

Quetta, March 2, 2017: MD and CEO Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) Syed Wamiq Bokhari, Chairman Organizing Committee PPL Balochistan Football Cup 2017, Sardar Naveed Haider Khan and President, Balochistan Football Association Rauf Notezai unveiled the trophy during a well-attended ceremony at Serena Hotel, Quetta on March 2. 

Secretary General, Balochistan Football Association Haji Saeed Takkoo, tournament ambassadors, media and other guests were also present.

Speaking on the occasion Bokhari said, “After creating momentum in 2016 for revival of the game in the province, we aim to raise the bar for PPL Balochistan Football Cup 2017 which is a much larger tournament to engage local young talent from the grassroots to recognize their potential. We are committed to improve the quality of life and instill hope among the disadvantaged in Balochistan through our long-term CSR programme.”   

Bokhari thanked the provincial government, Pakistan Football Federation, Balochistan Football Association and tournament ambassadors ─ Muhammad Essa Khan, Zahid Hameed, Saadullah, Sher Ali, Nasrullah Khan and Mehmood Ali ─ for their support and cooperation. 

The mega event will feature 37 teams up from the 32 teams last year across six provincial divisions ─ Quetta, Kalat, Makran, Sibi, Zhob and Naseerabad ─ in the round matches between March 10 and 18 followed by the final round, starting March 20. A total of 74 matches will be played as compared with 33 games in 2016. The semi-finals will be played on March 31 and final on April 2 at Sadiq Shaheed Football Stadium (Malibagh), Quetta.

PPL will provide attractive incentives and prizes for all teams playing at the district-level and final rounds as well as sports kit to all players, besides meeting other expenses, enabling optimum participation from all areas.
