Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) offers a comprehensive two-year on-job training programme for fresh graduates from various disciplines, including engineering, geosciences (geology and geophysics), information technology, human resources and business management.
The programme, considered to be one of the best in the local Exploration and Production sector, aims to provide comprehensive capacity building opportunities to trainees with a focus on hands-on-experience by working directly in the company and learning through the experience of qualified staff in addition to specially tailored workshops. As part of core technical development, trainees are exposed to state-of-the-art technology, systems and the latest exploration and production operations. Moreover, learning and application of soft skills such as teamwork and communications are part of the training programme.
On successful completion of the training programme regular employment may be offered, provided a suitable position is available, the trainee has acquired the necessary level of competence and skills and demonstrated performance matching the company’ standards for offering a regular job position.
Selection Criteria
The number of trainees inducted during a new cycle of the programme depends on the need, existing strength of trainees in the company and availability of resources for providing effective and meaningful practical exposure.
The selection process is dependent solely on performance in the competitive written test and a series of interviews followed by a detailed medical examination.
The programme is open for Pakistani nationals, holding a Masters or a four-year Bachelors degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics, Civil and Industrial), Geosciences, Information Technology or Management Sciences.

Depending on the number of available vacancies, a reasonable merit-based cut-off may be adopted to further shortlist candidates who have obtained first division throughout their academic career.

The CV should have details, including complete name, postal and email addresses, landline and mobile phone numbers, date of birth, overall marks/ percentages obtained in Secondary School Certificate, Higher School Certificate or Bachelors and Masters, with year of completion and relevant academic institutions.
A recent coloured passport-size photograph should be pasted (electronically) at the top right hand corner of the CV.
